hotel project

The hotel project focused on redesigning a hotel suite for Humber College and the Barrett Center for Technology Innovation. The client required that the space be fully furnished and operational. Another requirement was to fill the space with new artwork from a local artist. The concept for the suite was “Nature,” so choosing an artist with a portfolio indicative of those elements that can be seen or felt in nature was essential.

The existing space felt stark and sterile. Our team proposed a redesign that offered cozier furnishings to make the guests feel more comforted. Also for consideration were other materials and finishes, such as ambient lighting, that would make the space feel inviting. In addition, our design team addressed universal design principles and discerned any room for improvement that did not require demolition.

Lastly, we researched how the hotel industry was changing due to COVID. As a result, our team had to contemplate technological advancements further and replace high-touch services.
